Pausing Philw’s involvement in Ubuntu

With regret we have to inform you that Philw’s involvement in the Ubuntu community will be on pause for at least 12 months. After several discussions, the Community Council saw no other course of action but to ask him to refrain from his activities in the project.

In Ubuntu we take collaboration, a good working atmosphere, and our Code of Conduct seriously. If you have any questions, please let us know.

It was clear from the outset that ousting phillw was the end goal..

Why the council has decided to punished one person rather than all involved I
do not know (IHMO, they’re all to blame!) – might be time to review your guidelines?

I don’t usually write comments on matters such as these but in this case I felt
I had to, not only because I feel the banning of phillw is a bit
over-the-top but because the council appear to have taken a one sided view, and
I fear Lubuntu and the Ubuntu community will suffer for it.

And to make this absolutely clear I was not asked to write this message on
behalf of anyone, I did so of my own free will, not that you’ll believe me..
