Canonical Ltd., the commercial sponsor of Ubuntu, today announced it has partnered with LynuxTraining SÃ rl to develop the first dedicated Ubuntu training courses for the 'Ubuntu Certified Professional' status. UCP is a training certification based on the LPI level 1 certification.
Starting from the first quarter of 2007 system administrators will be able to participate in two five day courses available via a global network of partners with the Linux Professional Institute. These classes are the first in a series of classroom-based e-learning courses to aide system administrators in becoming Ubuntu Certified Professionals based on the LPI Level 1 certification.
Canonical continues to see an increasing demand for an IT certification which proves an individual's Ubuntu skills. We are delighted to be working with LynuxTraining to deliver Ubuntu Certified Professional status to Systems Administrators within the enterprise environment. — Jane Silber, Canonical CEO
